Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information our mobile games (including Clear Shot) collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to every game we publish under Existential Otter ("we", "us"). Our games have no accounts and ask for no sign-in; we never collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Information collected
- A random, app-specific identifier. On first launch the game creates a random ID stored only on your device. It is not your name and is not linked to your Apple account or to any other app. We use it to count anonymous usage.
- Anonymous usage data. Which levels are started and completed, taps, session length, and settings changes — to understand difficulty and improve the games. No message, photo, or personal content is ever collected.
- Advertising data. When ads are shown, Google AdMob may process device information and an advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads. On iOS this happens only with your permission (see "Ads and your choices").
How the information is used
- To improve the games — anonymous analytics via PostHog (our analytics provider) tell us where players get stuck so we can tune the levels.
- To show ads — we use Google AdMob to display interstitial and rewarded ads, which keep the games free. You can remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase.
- To process purchases — purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details; we only store a flag on your device recording that you bought the ad-free upgrade.
Ads and your choices
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. On iOS, the app will ask whether you allow
tracking before showing personalized ads. If you decline, you still see ads, but
non-personalized ones. You can change this anytime in
Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device.
You can also turn off our anonymous analytics inside the game at
Settings › Anonymous analytics. How Google uses data is described at
policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. Anonymous data is processed on our behalf by PostHog (analytics) and Google (ads). These providers process data on servers in the United States.
Data retention
Anonymous analytics are retained only as long as useful for improving the games. Because the data is not tied to your identity, we cannot single out or delete one person's events; you can stop all collection at any time using the opt-out above, which also clears the queue on your device.
Children
Our games are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA, UK, or California) you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Our games are designed to collect as little as possible and nothing that identifies you, but if you have a question or request, contact us below.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and post the new version at this same URL.
